J'Ouvert and Parade of the Bands (Carnival Monday 2.11.2013)
J'Ouvert, from the French 'jour ouvert' meaning 'day open....
This massive event kicked off this year at approximately 4 am on Monday, with the T7 Team, in full swing.
Carnival begins under a cloak of some serious night air , with the beat of soca music, and bursting at the seams with a full array of people, "playing Mas",and everyone is invited to join the festivities.
It's a true celebration of the darker elements of the island's folklore and past history. This is an effective sea of people dressed to depict a ritualistic expression in which the look and feel of seeing demons, devils, imps, and monsters, many bathed in various colored Muds, clays, oil, chocolate, and paint seem to come to life.
At daybreak,J'Ouvert moves into the arrival of massive costumed masquerade bands of "Pretty Mas". This is where the players feed the ongoing party with awesome spectacular costumes of traditional colors that seem to explode on to the streets. Thousands come out to "jumping up" and "wining" to the deep base of huge earth moving speakers stacked mile high complete with mega generators, on moving semi trucks with bands pumping a pulsation of decimal levels that almost go though your soul. Designed to stop your heart with riotous excitement. Let me tell you that Carnival Monday is only the start, this is just a prelude for Carnival Tuesday here in Trinidad, which T7 Images will have a ring side seat, so to speak.
Well .......... On-to the Grand Stage.....Capturing Your Slice Of The World
